Summary
Lucrezio is the son of the King’s concubine. He resented the king who toyed with his mother and abandoned him, but at his mother’s funeral, the king saw him and Lucrezio became his hated father’s mistress. Treated as a comforter by the king and despised by the people as an unclean person, Lucrezio spends his days in humiliation. Crown Prince Maximian continues to look at Lucrezio with the eyes of his “older brother”.
