Summary
certain month in 1975. A city-bred young man, Hijiri, who has moved to a rural village, learns of the existence of a young man who is shunned in that village. The young man Nagare, who lives quietly on a hill on the outskirts of the village, was born with a missing right arm and a bruise on his left hand. Furthermore, because his parents had died in suspicious circumstances, he was hated by the villagers. However, for Hijiri, who was fed up with the villagers’ excessive interference, the house of the stream where they couldn’t see was the place where he could calm down. Partly because of the villagers who unfairly discriminate against disabled people, he began to visit Nagare’s house frequently. At first, Nagare was cautious, but as he came into contact with Hijiri’s innocent demeanor, he gradually began to open up. A straight young man who grew up in the city and a handicapped handsome young man who lives in hiding. “A certain event” that happens to two people who have steadily cultivated friendship.
